Founded in 2011, Queen City Pipe Band has rapidly established itself as Colorado's premier competitive pipe band. We compete at Grade 3 level in the Western United States and are the first Colorado band to achieve grade 2. While we maintain serious competitive standards, we're known for our welcoming approach to new members and our commitment to preserving Scottish musical heritage.

QCPB is an open and welcoming band, but we are competition-focused, working toward a top 3 finish in WUSPBA and beyond. That means there's a minimum playing bar to join the Grade 3 circle. Here's what to know:
We don't offer beginner instruction and can't place brand-new players directly in the Grade 3 circle. If you've never played pipes or drums before, we'd encourage you to start with lessons through a local instructor first. Once you've built up some foundational skill, we'd love to hear from you.
Visitors are always welcome to watch practice and see what competitive Grade 3 piping and drumming looks like.

We hold a minimum playing standard for Gr 3 competition. We'll be honest with you about whether you're there yet.
